One of my most strongly held values is equality. This value took root in my childhood seeing a white supremacist rally held by the KKK in my hometown. The basis of power and privilege comes from the ability to make decisions that affect others but do not affect yourself. As I grew to an adult, I started to seek out morality in places other than religion. One of the places that I found an enriching source of morals were in human rights. If you’re making a tough decision and you hold a position of power or privilege, think about these three things. 1. How is your decision going to contribute to justice? 2.
