Universe Zero TTRPG - An Anime Role playing Game

Welcome to Season 2 of Universe Zero

If you love Anime, Dungeons and Dragons, TTRPGs and all things roleplaying then you will love Universe Zero, an actual play podcast that takes after all our favorite Anime, manga and comics in this fast paced, high-energy system where anyone can push past their limits and discover who they are!

Last time on Universe Zero

It has only been a few days since the end of the last season and our fabulous friends set out on an adventure to become their true selves and prepare for the Tournament under the Sky that is only a year away, time is ticking down.

Marvin, Our Magnetic Mystic, was thrust into the bizarre last season as a mysterious Modern Man with a solid drip, turned the page on our Nullian neighbor and cracked open the seal on Marvin's internal power through a series of small challenges, culminating at directing a menacing and mangled ghost toward our friends.

While Dart, or fist full of oblivious to human interactions, froggle mechanic, dip, dodges, and dashed past romantic connections while fostering a fierce friendship with Johnny Norman, our narrator's missive generator.

Now having cleared Johnny’s debt, repairing their dojo, and pooling their capital together, the 3 best friends head out on a road trip around the continent of Frutzu as they seek out Martial art Mentors to expand their abilities before the tournament's registration date…

Realizing that sitting for hours at a time is a pain in the butt, the team needs to get out and stretch their legs and fight off the boredom as they are still figuring out how to fill the silence of a long road trip.

Lucky for them there seems to be a rest area just up the road for them to pull over and exercise before the next leg of their journey.

Hello Dungeons and dragons, and table top enthusiasts!

We step away from our weekly adventure to try out a new system. we will be back next week with out regularly scheduled programming.

We placed our Nullian Magician in a precarious spot, to help or to hide and our little grey hero decided to deal his own fate and help our temporary NPC Kanashi Pai.

Stepping in front of the Twisted man and calling for the release of the Kanashi, we saw a glimmer of heroism from our Nullian on who’se on a sabbatical. However this conflict caused a strange gale force wind to damaging darts dojo, forcing Darts hand and to step into the frey to lend his webbed finlanges in vanquishing this grossly gyroscopic ghoul, if only he could see this being.

Luckily for both our allies, Dart held a temporary ticket, gifted from their enigmatic patron Velvet, that allowed dart to see these gross ghosts and prune its wiley whipping legs.

From Falling in the dark, to following an illuminated path this combat quickly turned in our friends favor as they worked as a team and Marvin channeled his sparkly fingers into a lightning lasso holding this hollow spirit in place as Dart hopped around it and cut it down to size, as Marvin learned he could capture this spirit in his spectral spell book… That’s definitely not going to be a bad thing later… not at all.

But, now with a few bruises and the power of teamwork under their yellow belts yet again, are our alien allies ready to leave the nest and travel the world with their llama lad Johnny for further growth?

Last Time on Universe Zero! Dart the Froggle friend thought he was signing up for a quiet morning of fishing… only to find himself swallowed whole by the Rabbit Festival, the annual celebration of romance, candied carrots, and puppet shows. As Drums pounded and hearts beat, Dart did his best to stay focused on his rod—and absolutely not on the overwhelming relationship energy surrounding him. Fate, however, had other plans. Dart crossed paths with Cam, a smug and unsettling T.A to the infamous Dr. Kurevo, the robotics expert. In a perfectly timed, anime-grade whoopsie, the two collided and swapped identical toolboxes—apparently a wildly popular design. Cam didn’t realize the mistake until it was far too late, when he attempted to hand off upgraded robotic eyes for Granny Gyugyu, Doctor Kurevo's paramour. Realizing something was very wrong, both mechanics launched into a frantic search through the festival lights—and when they finally collided, sparks flew. A fast-paced battle erupted, with Cam proving far more dangerous than expected. But Dart relied on instinct, agility, and hard-earned martial skills to dip, dodge, and dash through the combat to return the correct toolbox and put an end to the clash without escalating things any further. With the festival winding down and the moon hanging low, Dart ended his long day with his neighbor, Maddie Skippers. To everyone else, it looked like a perfect festival date… To Dart? Just a friendly hangout. Somewhere in the city, Cam swears an oath to make Dart his mortal enemy.

LAST TIME ON UNIVERSE ZERO We Followed Marvin on his day off, during an unseasonably warm day, a bit of winter fell on our Nullian Magician as our new friend Satin, a Batling Cryomancer, was assigned to investigate an interesting blip that turned out to be marvin. While hiding in the shadows, Satin Summoned, a Slime Minion to sic on Marvin, only for our friendly Alien to befriend this acidic blob. Down and not out, satin lured Marvin in with a promise of Bat-eries, only to lock Marvin in a frigid makeshift maze packed with simple Puzzles any child could solve. After feeling the pressure and impending avalanche MArvin passed his initial knowledge test only to be met by the playful nudges of Satin forcing Marvin to play along. After taking a Snowball to the throat, Marvin turned the tables on our would be assessor and lassoed this bat in order to find some answers. After getting a few cryptic answers from this poor man's mothman, Marvin was able to pass these winter tests and send the batman packing. Another strange day for our Nullian friend, as he finished it off by unleashing a menagerie of Slime blobs into the parks of Kabuto Town, while adopting one as a pet. What will happen this time on Universe Zero?

Last Time On Universe Zero Last time, Marvin, Dart, and Johnny stopped snacking on survival and started serving justice. Rallying their allies—Sensei Yukkon and Officer Apple—the team marched straight into a long-overdue showdown with the Rotten Core Gang, starring Cosmic Crisp and his stale sidekicks. Thanks to preparation sharper than a dojo blade, the fight was a clean crunch. Yukkon played the perfect pressure cooker, keeping eyes locked on him while Dart delivered bone-rattling blows that proved fists beat filler. Meanwhile, Marvin shuffled fate, using mystic tarot talents to soften hearts, scramble loyalties, and remind the gang that even villains can choose a better flavor. But not everyone stayed on the menu. From the shadows, Malicious Delicious slipped away, paying off Tempura-9 to keep him crispy and concealed from Officer Apple’s many watchful eyes. With the gang scattered and justice served hot, our heroes earned a full week of rest and recovery—time to heal wounds, sharpen skills, and let destiny marinate.
