"Jesus not only created the world but He sustains it; He upholds it"

Brett continued in his new series on Hebrews, and discussed how Jesus is "better than," and how events from the Old Testament led to a new covenant, new king, and new creation. Jesus is the best prophet, priest, and king, and Hebrews 1:1-9 teaches us that He is "superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs." (verse 4)

"Lament forms our character because it confronts us with the character of God."

Jerell discussed Psalm 42 and presented us with the four steps to how we lament, which are:

1. Addressing God 

2. Describing our pain to God

3. Crying out for relief 

4.Confessing our hope.

He also cited Romans 5:3 and James 1:2 as verses to consider regarding lamentation.

Brett started his new series on the book of Hebrews, discussing Hebrews 1:1-4 and citing 'The Parable of the Wicked Tenants' in Luke 20:9-18. We learned that the author of Hebrews is unknown and that the book was written to promote the supremacy of Christ.

"We don't need more words from God, we have The Word of God. He has spoken."

 Sean preaches on Psalm 1, and how it invites us to listen to God. Psalm 1 discusses the blessed man and Sean reminds us that, "The voice that shapes your thinking, shapes your life."

Brett follows up the 'Quite the Character' series with a sermon on wisdom, focusing on Proverbs 8 and 9.

Craig finished the series on Christian character by discussing the importance of love and how we are called to love God and our neighbors.

Brett continued in the series on Christian character, and cited verses from Luke 10 to discuss generosity.

This week, Jerell continued in the series on Christian character, and cited verses from Genesis and Romans to discuss what it means to abhor evil.

Continuing in the series on Christian character, Brett cited verses from Matthew, Ephesians, and 1 Thessalonians, to discuss the quality of gentleness.

Lew continued in the Christian character series on Sunday, and discussed the importance of peace.
