This World Communion Sunday, a day that Christians through out the world celebrate, Pastor Earl preaches an “Ode to Bread.” The scripture reading is from the Gospel of John and we will hear the familiar words from Jesus: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

We conclude our sermon series centered on “The 3 B’s” of Believing, Behaving and Belonging with a focus on what it means to belong. Pastor Teresa’s sermon text is Luke’s telling of a time from Jesus’ childhood.

Pastor Teresa’s sermons will explore this in the light of recent writings from religions scholar Diana Butler Bass.

We welcome guest preacher Rev. Dr. Amy Laura Hall an ordained elder in the Rio Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church and Associate Professor of Christian Ethics and Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies at Duke Divinity School. Dr. Hall continues our look at Old Testament families of the Bible and preaches from the book of Ruth.

Pastor Teresa continues the sermon series “Old Testament Families of the Bible” with a scripture lesson from Exodus 2:1-10 about baby Moses.
