The season finale of Unli-Pop! is a Halloween special as well! Listen as proud cowards Leandro Ds, Jai Aquino, and Paolo de Borja gather around one fine evening to share scary stories to each other. It's an hour of tears (seriously), goosebumps, and swears as the trio talk about school mumus, engkantos, seances, and everything in between!
We're very grateful to everyone that submitted their stories for this episode, and a special thanks to MilkyClear for letting us use a story from their spine-tingling #Spooktober2021 series! The best thing about watching movies is the feelings you get when you empathize with characters. Regardless of the genre, the nature of films is for people to relate to what's happening on screen. One of the more common relationships you'll find on screen is friendships, and this is one of the easiest to relate to. It's hard to think of a film that doesn't have any semblance of friendships in any way. So with the breadth of film friendships, we beg to ask -- what's the best friendship on film?
In honor of the Unli-Pop! Friendship (yay), listen as the Usuals attempt to debate which film friendship is the best (in our opinion). Leandro Ds, Vito Alip, and Danmig Agcaoili tackle the various kinds of friendships and relate these to real life situations in this very wholesome (surprisingly) episode!

Fashion and pop culture have long been intertwined. For the uninitiated, the impact of fashion in society and culture is very understated. It's more than the clothes you wear, the runway shows you watch, and the luxury brands you desire. Beneath the consumerism façade, there's a well-oiled machine that dictates what most think are mundane choices. And that's worth a deep dive on Unli-Pop!
Join noted fashion agnostic Leandro Ds and a pair of fashion fanatics in Via Villafuerte & DJ Magbanua as they discuss the inner workings of the industry -- everything from the economics of fashion, the origin of trends, the rise of fast (and ultra fast) fashion, and more!

Few directors can match Quentin Tarantino's body of work. His trademark style of filmmaking is legitimately one of the most distinct in history. Everything about his colorful dialogue, stylish violence, unique narrative structures, and whatnot have led to fans all over the world anticipating his every movie. His effect on pop culture is massive, and it's only right that we do a fair retrospective of the acclaimed director.
Speaking of retrospectives, it's only right that Unli-Pop! invites fellow podcasters Mark and G from The Retrospectives Podcast to take on the challenge of discussing the whole filmography of Quentin Tarantino! Listen as Leandro, Mark, and G talk about each one of his films (in non-linear fashion of course!), how each stack up against each other in this special cross-pod episode!

At one point, Oasis christened themselves the biggest band in the world and it was very difficult to argue against it. These were the guys that played in front of a quarter of a million people in Knebworth after all. But that was in 1996, which is only 2 years after Leandro Ds and Vito Alip were born. Despite being massive fans of Oasis, they could only wish to experience the height of their popularity. But it doesn't hurt to ask what it was like back in the day.
Listen as the Unli-Pop! Usuals welcome The Podcast Coach Paul Catherall to the show. A UK native, Paul shares his experiences when Oasis were at their peak. They talk about everything from Oasis' roots, the magic of their first two albums, the disappointment of Be Here Now, and even the Battle of Britpop!

Unli-Pop! prides itself in being a grumpy old millennial – less than willing to consume new content, comfortable in fads from 5 to 10 years ago, and finally embracing "get-off-my-lawn" energy. Of course, not every millennial is like that. There are tons of people our age that embrace what the new generation has to offer. Enter TikTok.
GOM (this should be a thing) extraordinaire Leandro Ds is joined by two guests that feel as if they were born in the wrong generation. Frankie Primavera and Jesse Pepino hop on the podcast to talk about the holy grail of Gen Z, TikTok! Listen as they try to explain to Leandro what's so great about this content platform and convince him to make an account! Plus! Discussions on what makes Gen Z different from us Milennials, as told by Millennials!

To the kids born in the 90s, do you remember the first time you heard about American Pie? And do you remember what it was like growing up around movies like Superbad? For a lot of kids our age, watching these kinds of films was a rite of passage (who cares about age ratings anyway?). More than the actual films, watching these was an experience that our younger selves had to go through – all the sneaking, telling your other little friends, and eventually being scolded after your parents catch you with it. Good times.
Listen as Leandro Ds and the Unli-Pop usuals in Jai Aquino, Danmig Agcaoili, and Reno Gatan reminisce over our corrupted younger years. They discuss everything from the difference between films like American Pie and Superbad, our favorite scenes, and where this genre is headed (give us more feminist perspectives, Hollywood!).

After a wild weekend of wrestling, there's an obvious electricity in the air if you're a mark. But if you're a lapsed fan, you need to understand that where the industry is now has been a gradual ascent. We've come a long way from live sex celebrations and bra & panties matches. This week's episode of Unli-Pop! is the perfect time to take a step back and remember our fandom origin stories, and to get excited about what's coming up next in this wonderful world of professional wrestling.
In the 2nd part of this excuse to mark out, Leandro Ds, Ace Jazmines, Gretchen Gatan, and Carmela Ramirez tackle the weekend of August 20 – one of the biggest couple of days in wrestling in years! They tackle everything from the already iconic return of CM Punk to pro wrestling, the highs and (massive) lows of SummerSlam, and what all of these mean for the future of the industry. Plus! Unli-Pop's rip-off of Fast Talk returns, but with a wrestling twist!

Sometimes, we all just have to take a step back and remember the good old days. Nostalgia is a hell of a thing. Being able to sit down with a couple of your friends and talk about what it felt like binging on cartoons and other children shows every afternoon is honestly just a great time in general.
Leave it to the Unli-Pop! Usuals to make that into a competition. Listen as the Usuals are joined by Ella Villaflor as they tackle the programs that our child-selves would throw a fit over if someone would even suggest that they'd change the channel -- Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and the Disney Channel. They dissect the content make-up of these channels, what makes them distinct from each other, the individual shows that fueled their childhoods, CHOOSE a champion show from each network, and DECIDE which of the 3 is the GOAT in this TV Triple Threat!
