Scott Dickson is a UA alumnus who started his career journey at just 19 years old, spending a year as a B2B sales representative for a start-up commercial water supplier. However he soon realised he didn’t want to work for anyone else!

Scott says “the leadership course set up by Unlocking Ambition was a turning point for [his] business.” Subsequently UA enabled Scott to invest in bringing Phox' product manufacturing to Scotland.

In conversation with Zoi Kantounatou, on behalf of Unlocking Insights, Scott talks about navigating a route around academia, through employment and into entrepreneurialism; and subsequently founding Phox, supplier of the world’s most eco-friendly water filter.

Gupta was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to business and charity in the 2017 New Year Honours. In 2017, Poonam formed Women's Business Mentoring which provides business mentoring schemes to women across Scotland.

Hannah Fisher is Co-Founder at The Start-Up Drinks Lab.

Hannah and co-founder Craig Strachan, met through business accelerator Entrepreneurial Spark when they were trying get their own soft drink brands off the ground.

However, finding a suitable third-party manufacturer to produce and bottle their products proved to be a significant challenge. Between them, they had approached over 30 manufacturers in the UK and Europe with little success.

Spotting a real gap in the market, they set out to create a facility that would allow other fledgling brands to bring their products to market by breaking down the biggest barriers to production.

In this episode Hannah talks us through the Start-up Drinks Lab story and how she and Craig have navigated their innovative Drinkubator service.
