Mental health, is health! This week we are talking about just how important it is to take care of yourself from the inside out.
We are normalizing talking about Mental Health as a reminder that we all go through things, are not alone, and have nothing to be ashamed of and Kaliesha Thompson was the perfect person to have this conversation with!
Kaliesha Thompson is a therapist, life coach and entrepreneur who has a dream of seeing mental and emotional healing in the communities surrounding her. She strives to create a space where parents/ adults can heal so that the generations to come won’t have to suffer from unresolved trauma. As a native of California, Kaliesha completed high school and served the community in a variety of ways including working in the schools and devising counseling groups at her high school. It was there that she became immersed in her passion for a career in psychology. Kaliesha pursued a Bachelor's degree in psychology at Spelman College, and now holds a Master’s Degree in counseling. Kaliesha currently uses her skills to serve inner city students, teaching them social and emotional skills while using a variety of techniques.. Kaliesha also provides life coaching and therapeutic services to individuals and families seeking healing from depression, anxiety, trauma and inter- family conflicts. Kaliesha is the proud mother of two young men and she has been married to LaRon Thompson for 2 years. Together they also serve as leaders of a historical church in Kansas City.
Kyle Hollins is a Hometown Hero in Kansas City. Kyle is the founder and creator or Lyrik’s Institute, a" cognitive based program that allows its students to master in the Creative Arts of their choice and take part in paid internships to become market value assets".
Kyle has a story that is more than inspiring. He has not only overcame homelessness, gang life, and incarceration but he has used everything that he has gone through to give back to the community.
Every generation needs someone who will care enough, and who is selfless enough to educate them on the hard things of this world.
And while often many youth think they need to turn to athletes and artists for inspiration it’s people like Omari Ajanaku who remind them that there are people in your own community to look to for not only resources but inspiration.
His name is Swahili and comes from East Africa in Kenya. Omari (Oh-Ma-Ree) means the highest, mountaintop and close to God, Ajamu (Ah-Jah-Moo) means he who fights for what he wants, Ajanaku (Ah-Jah-Na-Koo) means free and wealthy people. Omari is a husband and father of three children; Aiyanna, Bashiri and Israel.
He was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in Langston/Guthrie, OK. After attending Langston University in 2012 he graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2017 with two bachelor's degrees; one in forensic science and the other in criminal justice with the intention of using both with his future criminal law degree.
His experience includes;
six years with Oklahoma City Public Schools as a substitute/Language Art's Teacher, seven years with the YMCA as a youth and family counselor/coordinator and four years with various youth shelters as a youth specialist/advocate.
Omari is the owner of an entertainment company,
a criminal law firm, a vocational non-profit and a podcast.
His purpose is to control his intellectual property, ensure generational wealth and to lead by example while doing what he loves to do.
Many of us have overcome things that other people would struggle having to imagine that they could endure. Thankfully we have people who are bold enough to share their stories so that we don't have to.

This week we are excited to talk to Meg Heppner!
No matter what goes on in life, we have to remember that as long as we are alive it’s NOT over. Meg encourages us to fall back in love with our selves, the importance of healing, and work through our every day emotions.
Join us this week to learn the tools to reclaim YOU!
ABOUT THE GUEST:
Meg is a life coach, Hypnotherapist, blogger and event host that is passionate about walking with people who want more out of life than just the status quo! She believes that life doesn’t have to work out exactly the way we think it “should” in order to be enjoyed and that people don’t have to be perfect in order to be loved. She believes that we all have the voice of truth inside of us but sometimes it can be hard to hear. And most importantly that we must live between the tension of accepting the things we cannot change and taking massive action on the things we can! Meg creates spaces where women can slow down and process all the things that are influencing and controlling their lives - their everyday thoughts, emotions, and the stories they have been telling themselves. Spaces where they can look at their inner world, gain valuable insight and then reclaim their personal authority, and make conscious decisions that transform the way they experience their lives! Through one on one coaching, group coaching and workshops Meg helps women show up in the world with more love, and less ego, more compassion, and less judgment, more vulnerability, and less shame, more emotional agility and less fear!
