This week I took a walk, and that was really scary because I was genuinely afraid that I wouldn't be safe out in public. It's the first walk that I've taken in a year, and is a small step of overcoming my fear, that something might happen when I leave or return to my house. Check out this episode for a great reminder that although trauma and abuse and PTSD suck, the experience that traumatized you is over, and at a certain point you have to start moving forward instead of staying in place out of fear.
