Episode 100! 

When Robert, Goran and I published our first podcast episode in July 2020  the main motivation was to talk about the world of SAP and Microsoft. There were and are some fantastic resources about SAP and about Microsoft, but nothing that really talked about what you can do with both together.  

So in the last 2 years we had a lot of fantastic content. We talked about Microsoft as an SAP customer, we talked about different partner solutions and about co-developments that we are doing.    

For episode 100 we decided to invite Peter Fischer and Benjamin Herrmann who are managing the customer relationship with SAP as a customer at Microsoft. Peter and Benjamin provide us with a good overview on what's happening on the SAP side -- especially in the context of Microsoft of course.

In episode 99 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about latest enhancements with the SAP Deployment Automation Framework and do a quick outlook on the upcoming Microsoft partner conference Inspire.

Then we look at the SAP Private Link service in the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) which is now general available. A lot of customers are running their SAP system on Azure and are also using SAP BTP on Azure. With the new SAP Private Link service customers can now connect their SAP system with BTP services without the need to drill holes in your firewall. No outbound connectivity is required. Sven Kohlhaas from SAP and Martin Pankraz from Microsoft provide us with more insights on this new service.

In episode 98 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about  General availability announcements: SAP Private Link is now GA and also GitHub Copilot. Then we look at the Lessons from the Cyber War report published by Brad Smith and the Neptune Software IMPACT festival 2022.

This is then also the focus of todays episode: using the Neptune DXP Platforms API Factory we expose SAP services and create a Power Platform customer connector. This connector can then be used to create a Power Automate flow which for example can be surfaced in Microsoft Excel.

In episode 97 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about a new video of Microsoft Purview and SAP, a detailed recovery guide for SAP HANA and Azure NetApp Files, scale-up high-availability on disaster region architecture, Customer engagement initiative for SAP Private Link and Martins and Wills presentation at the Integrate conference in London.

Then Ross and Jitendra join us to talk about the Health and Inventory checks for SAP part of the AzSAP Tools & Framework. Starting with the  VM/OS health check to ensure that a setup and operation is done in a recommended way to the inventory check provides an "early-watch-kind of report" over your SAP landscape on Azure.

In episode 96 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about leveraging the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model with Private Link, more scenarios with Microsoft and RISE with SAP on Azure integrations and look at the public preview for Microsoft Graph and Azure Event Grid integration.

Then Martin Pankraz joins us to talk about using Power Automate flows in our internal onboarding process for SAP integration scenarios. We started onboarding new users to our engineering environment in a manuel process: creating users, assigning roles in different systems, sending out documentation to get started. Then we switch to Power Automate and automated the full process so that onboarding is much less error-prone and takes only a few minutes.
