I am so very happy to have Beth back on the podcast to spill the tea on some of our all time favourite topics – LOVE, RELATIONSHIPS and RELIGION.
I wanted to have this chat because the editing SWTS has made me realise, I say “love that” way too much but I am also just being honest...I really do love a lot I can't help it!
Beth, whom I suspect has a lot of Taurus in her birth chart is a lover of all things like me and has a knack for seeing the beauty and appreciating the small moments. I couldn’t think of a better co-host to bring the pod into 2024 for an episode very close to our hearts(literally).
Think of this ep as sneak peak into our minds and voice notes!
One thing about Beth and me, we do love to dissect and swap stories on how our thoughts on love and relationships were deeply affected by conservative religion and purity culture growing up.
It's a complex and difficult intersection to talk about particularly when shame and guilt have been interwoven with such deeply ingrained beliefs. Which is why we are so proud to bring this convo to the mic and out into the world - to hopefully provoke thought and maybe give you insight into what it's like to have to deprogram your mind from harmful conditioning as it pertains to love and relationships.

into that old trope about the thin line between love and hate, how being raised religiously affects your ability to express and receive love, cultural and familial expectations placed on young women to get married and how generations of forced marriage can manifest as repression and trauma, debunking the harmful conservative view that we as humans are not worthy of love and pleasure.
