Conceptual Poetry by Alkistis Voulgari©/ Lyrics
: I was walking in the center of the city yesterday
Outside of the Central Bank,
with the guards and the gentlemen in fine costumes
there was a man
searching in the garbage
He was barefoot
He was speaking to himself
He was young
I passed on by like everybody did…
I passed on by with my head down
The two aspects of this world
acting together
on a single little road
The ones who have…
The bodyguards of the ones who have… and the ones who… - see, the pen stopped writing
Who really has and who doesn’t?...
The men in costumes
And the invisible men who have the things that the men in costumes guard so well – yes,
they have money
But do they have anything else?
The Barefoot Man
who seeks in the garbage
speaking to himself
has definitely a good story to tell
If God was a director
would choose to make a film of the life of the barefoot Man
The barefoot Man’s life would sell more tickets at the cinema!
Who has and who doesn’t?... Outside the Central Bank
In the center of the city
The men in costumes laugh ironically
While a barefoot, desperate man is searching in the garbage
I pass on by like everybody else…
