Unplugged: Surviving to Thrive

This week three guest speakers join CeCee and Aaron to talk about consent and dismantling the patriarchy as avenues of ending the overwhelming epidemic of sexual assault.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and for this episode, Aaron and CeCee dig into why our culture often blames the survivor for the assault or harassment they experience rather than holding the perpetrator accountable, and how we need to change the narrative in order to end the prevalence of sexual assault and sexual harassment.

Join CeCee and Aaron as they talk about women who have pushed the envelope in history in ways that have created ripple effects in moving the needle towards equality. Through their discussion learn how working towards equality for both women and people of color are related to the movement of ending violence.

This week CeCee and Aaron have high school student, Isaac Camacho join the podcast to discuss teen dating violence from the perspective of a young person. Learn why teens don’t always share with adults, how to reach teens, and why Isaac thinks teens experience violence to begin with.

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month or TDVAM. This week CeCee and Aaron will talk about the history of this movement, the prevalence of teen dating violence, and even about how to talk to young people about healthy relationships. In our last episode, CeCee and Aaron laid out the dynamics of stalking for National Stalking Awareness Month.
