Not many cheat death, but if anyone can, Rachel Silver-Cohen's dear friend from college certainly takes the prize. In today's episode Dr. Boca and Rachel are humbled to have Sherwin Zanjanian, alive and well as their guest to share his harrowing story after suffering an aortic dissection which almost took his life at the age of 48. While Dr. Gianluca Terragrosso and his team at St. Luke's Hospital (now renamed Mount Sinai Morningside) performed life saving surgery, Sherwin's perpetual optimism and healthy outlook on how to face challenges head on could likely have been an equally (if not greater) driving factor in surviving this near fatal medical emergency.
