If she leaves, she is blamed for breaking up her family. If she stays, she is told she has no self-respect. So, which one is it?In today's episode, we're having an honest conversation about victim-blaming, infidelity, absent fathers, divorce, accountability and the pressure placed on women to keep their families together, even when they are the ones being hurt.This conversation is personal to me. I reflect on my parents' divorce and how my father's absence affected me as a child. I also explore the expectations placed on African women, including the pressure to endure for the children, preserve a marriage and worry about what the community will say.As a Namibian woman with Aawambo roots, I believe we can honour our heritage, value family and respect marriage while still questioning the expectations that cause people harm.Because a man does not stop being a father when he stops being a husband.
