What would make someone donate a kidney to a complete stranger and then race at the Ironman World Championships less than a year later?
In this episode of the Unquenchable Fire Podcast, I sit down with Ironman athlete Andrew Langston, kidney donor and founder of The Iron Kidney Project, to talk about endurance, sacrifice, faith, and what it means to truly give part of your life so someone else can live.
Andrew shares his journey from Ironman racing, to making the life-changing decision to donate his kidney to someone he had never met, to recovering and qualifying for the Ironman World Championships shortly after surgery.
During our conversation, we also discuss Jeremiah 17:9–10 and the fascinating biblical connection between the heart, mind, and kidneys in the Old Testament. The Bible says that God searches the heart and tests the mind and in the original Hebrew, this word is closely connected to the kidneys, the deepest inner parts of a person. Just as Andrew gave a kidney so someone else could live, Jesus Christ gives us a new heart so we can truly live.

What does the Bible say about mental health?
Is anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder a sign of weak faith… or is something deeper going on?
In this episode of Unquenchable Fire, I sit down with Josh Springer, my former 8th grade basketball coach, business owner, husband, and father, who shares his powerful testimony of being diagnosed with bipolar disorder after years of struggle.
Together, we break down the connection between the body, mind, and soul from a biblical perspective and answer questions many Christians are afraid to ask:
-Is mental illness a sign of a lack of faith?
-Is mental health a spiritual issue, biological issue, or both?
-How should believers think about medication, counseling, and self-care?
-What does the Bible say about suffering, weakness, and trusting God?
This conversation addresses the common belief that “mental illness is just a lack of faith” and replaces it with a deeper, more biblical understanding of how God works through both physical and spiritual brokenness.
If you or someone you love is struggling with mental health, this episode will challenge, encourage, and point you back to the hope we have in Christ.

In 1 John 3:1–10, the Apostle John gives one of the clearest explanations in all of Scripture about the evidence of true faith in Jesus Christ and what it means to be a Child of God.
In this episode of Unquenchable Fire, we explore three powerful realities that flow from being adopted into God’s family:
The Pursuit. The Pattern. The Promise.
The Pursuit of righteousness
The Pattern of sin being broken through the power of the Holy Spirit
The Promise of Jesus, God's own Son
John begins with an incredible declaration:
This episode dives deep into the hope of the Gospel, the adoption we receive through Christ, and the real evidence of spiritual transformation that follows salvation.
We also explore:
• Why being called a Child of God is the greatest identity a believer can have
• The connection between God’s Law in the Old Testament and Jesus as the Law-fulfiller
• What true righteousness actually means according to Scripture
• Why genuine faith produces a changed life
• How the patterns of sin are broken through the power of the Holy Spirit
“The Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by Him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’” — Romans 8:15–16
This is the hope that purifies our past, transforms our present, and secures our future.
Paul debated the smartest men in Athens.
Epicureans. Stoics. Philosophical elites. And when he preached the resurrection of Jesus Christ… they mocked.
A few years later he writes:
“I resolved to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” - 1 Corinthians 2:2
In this episode we break down:
-Epicurean vs Stoic philosophy (Acts 17 explained)
-Why the resurrection offended ancient intellectual culture
-The difference between worldly wisdom and wisdom through the Holy Spirit
-What 1 Corinthians 1–2 teaches about Spirit-given wisdom
-Why the Gospel seems foolish to those who have no believed
If you care about:
-Biblical theology
-The power of the Holy Spirit
-Christ-centered preaching
-Cultural engagement without compromise

"Jesus answered, I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
This statement by Jesus forces us to reorient ourselves toward him and his way, not our own. Our way will never lead to true fulfillment. It is by grace through faith we can find that way and once on it, Scripture, prayer adherence to God's law, and the power of the Holy Spirit will sustain us.

I've always wanted to be a warrior, but I spent most of my life fighting the battles I wanted to fight. I lost those battles. Now, I am a warrior for Christ, following his lead and trusting that no matter the battlefield I face, he will lead me to victory
Our participation in God's divine plan is a spectrum. Some seasons we are making every effort, as is written in 2 Peter 1, and others we find ourselves "being still" as the writer of Psalm 46:10 describes.
Regardless of the season, our participation will lead to a better understanding and knowledge of Almighty God and his perfect will for us and no matter our disposition, we are to find our strength in Christ.
In this episode of The Unquenchable Fire Podcast, host Colton Kirkpatrick sits down with his good friend Ryan Cummings who shares his testimony that challenges the idea that faith must begin with a dramatic conversion moment.
Instead, Ryan's story is one of grace unfolding slowly through relationships, marriage difficulties, the local church, and a journey through different Christian denominations. Eventually, God used that journey to root them in a church where faith, doctrine, and community aligned and where Ryan now helps lead a foster care agency partnering directly with churches to serve children from broken families.
