Just after 5:30 a.m. on August 13, 2022, a man was found gravely injured on the sidewalk of the Osborne Street Bridge, one of Winnipeg's busiest crossings. He was 28-year-old Sydney Chubb, and he died of his injuries eight days later. Police ruled it a homicide but have never made an arrest, and the central question, what happened to Sydney in the hours before dawn, is still unanswered. On the night of April 23-24, 2011, 25-year-old Jason Nunn left the Element Restaurant and Lounge in Thompson, Manitoba, after a night out with friends, and started for home. He never made it. His body was found hours later in a parking lot; he had been beaten to death. Fifteen years on, no one has been arrested. In April 2026, RCMP renewed their appeal for help. August 28, 2026 EP11. The Silver SUV: The 2019 Murder of Brett Cadieux
In the early hours of March 12, 2019, 23-year-old Brett Cadieux was shot and killed near Ellice Avenue and Empress Street in Winnipeg's West End, weeks before the birth of his son. Police said the killing was targeted and released traffic-camera footage of a silver SUV, but no one has ever been arrested, and his family says they've never even been given a description of the shooter. Many people saw her on the way, but she never made it home. She was found stabbed near a Moncton Avenue apartment block, and the one solid clue, a distinctive blue car seen circling the scene, was never traced. Nearly 50 years on, her murder is unsolved.
