Honestly, I really liked this episode. The story is again pretty clean and straightforward, there's great acting throughout, the stakes feel pretty relevant, and overall I feel like I cared about everyone involved. I liked the fact that the Doctor feels like he owes the Ood after what happened with the Satan Pit.
Meanwhile, there's some interesting imagery going on regarding the involvement of PoC and I'm not sure if I'm reading into it or not, so I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Hey there, listeners! It's time to get into Season 4 (which according to Amazon starts with this episode) and we're on the Titanic! Not that Titanic, but also not NOT that Titanic.
This episode is about a greedy maniacal capitalist who is willing to kill thousands of people in order to sink his own company that booted him. It's really feeling a little like a headline I would expect to see on Facebook, and if not for the fact that he's now a cyborg, I would say that this is totally believable.
There are also, in the grand tradition of Christmas episodes, creepy seasonal statues/servants/robots that turn evil. I am always here for that.

Welcome, UNspoiled! Whovians, to the newest episode in which I am very confused about Owen saying this is the episode that made him stop watching.
There are certainly problems in this episode, and Jaime and I talk about them some...well, really mostly talk about the overall inconsistency of the Doctor as a character. Because we are meant to like him and trust his judgment, but the end of this episode shows us someone who is breathtakingly cruel for the sake of it, so it seems to me. I don't know why the family is immortal in the first place, as there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer, but I would be interested in hearing from you all about what you thought. Did he MAKE the family immortal just so he could torture them for eternity?
