Unsung Heroes 6: Desmond Doss And Hacksaw Ridge

Listen Later

This unsung heroes story goes into the details that were the life events of the World War 2 Hero, Desmond Doss. From his humble beginnings in Lynchburg, Virginia to his heroic feats on Okinawa, Guam and Leyte. Doss was a "conscientious cooperator" that, despite his faith, had the courage to risk his life for his men for the defense of American values in the second world war. He not only is credited with the saving of 75 men over a period of 12 hours without any weapons, and under horrible fire. Yet it was his faith he said that helped him make it through those moments. He not only earned 2 Bronze stars, he also earned Medal of Honor, the first as a conscientious objector and the only one in World War II. I really enjoyed doing this episode and I hope that you will enjoy it's contents as well.
