For the rockers, in this episode, I chat with Karly Jewell (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCihRfPSHPaaqy9olgBhTmrQ).
Karly and I talk, music, songwriting, producing and personal stories life. Karly Jewell is one of the latest talents to come from Melbourne Australia.
At the age of 5 she picked up her Grandfather's Guitar (Highly acclaimed Country Singer- Songwriter (late) Tony Jewell) known for his close work with one of the biggest Country Music Artists in Australia Slim Dusty. The creativity was in her blood & passed down to create her own story through music. Crafting her sound & discovering her Versatility while moving from Genre to Genre. This would also open doors to working with many different Producers & Artists. Karly has been writing & performing prolifically since forming her live band, building a Rock & Roll family. The solid foundation of this hard hitting Rock driven Band is built on the love of music, passion for their art heart & soul.
Played countless shows across Australia from her home town Mildura & small town where she grew up of Wentworth N.S.W. As well as hitting up Melbourne the bands home base including The Corner Hotel, Revolver, The Espy Gershwin Room, Evelyn Hotel & the place Karly & the Band made their home stage to play The Boogie Man Bar. Internationally they have played Venues such as the Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles, Jumping on tour with Hell On Wheels & Gravity Layne. Played sets In Long Beach, CA , Santa Monica, Trip Bar and also the Famous Viper Room supporting the Late Chuck Mosley (original member of Faith No More).
Attended the Vegas Rock Magazine awards in 2014 after being nominated for Up & Coming Rock Band. That was a dream come true for a small-town country kid standing on a red carpet in Las Vegas. Karly also released a crossover of Dark Electronic music & 3 Rock tracks via Triple J Unearthed 2016/2017 making 1,2 & 3 positions on the charts in the top 5 on Dance, Electronic & Rock Charts holding their places for a number of weeks & staying in the top 100 for all categories. This also exposed Karly to other Radio Stations within Australia.
