Listener Submission: "As happy as this time of year is for many, it is also the very saddest of times for so many others. It seems that many people choose this time of year to take their own life and it is absolutely crushing for those left behind. The other day, one of my daughter's best friend's father killed himself. We all knew that he was struggling with depression, but we never imagined it would come to this. I am so heartbroken. What can we do to help in these situations?... if there is really even anything we can do at all?"
It may be the "most wonderful time of the year", but it isn't for everyone. For those who struggle with depression, it can be the hardest season of all. Be there for those you know that struggle, and move forward with them in love and understanding.
