And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)

When this is the day you are questioning why something HARD, or SAD, or PAINFUL, or EXPENSIVE, or FRUSTRATING, or DISCOURAGING, is happening in your life, I hope you think about Monika, and faithful believers like her, who God sets before us as examples to encourage us to be strong in our faith. Like Monika learned and continues to practice, we must preach to ourselves scripture, rehearsing continually in our mind the good truth about who God is: his steadfast love, his merciful character, and his divine sovereignty over all the earth.
