Cs: Ve vzduchu byla cítit vůně léta.
En: The scent of summer was in the air.
Cs: I když se nacházeli v daleké Arktické tundře, slunce nikdy nezapadlo.
En: Even though they were in the far Arktická tundra, the sun never set.
Cs: Bylo to fascinující.
En: It was fascinating.
Cs: Václav, student s vášní pro přírodu, se postavil na vrchol malého kopce a snažil se vnímat nekonečné rozlohy tundry.
En: Václav, a student with a passion for nature, stood on top of a small hill and tried to take in the endless expanses of the tundra.
Cs: Při pohledu na nízké keře, lišejníky a mech si představoval, jak zde žijí zvířata.
En: Looking at the low shrubs, lichens, and moss, he imagined how animals lived there.
Cs: "Midsummer tady je krásný," řekla Lenka, která stála vedle něj.
En: "Midsummer here is beautiful," said Lenka, who stood next to him.
Cs: "Ano, ale také trochu děsivý," odpověděl Petr, očima sledoval oblaka na obloze.
En: "Yes, but also a bit eerie," replied Petr, his eyes following the clouds in the sky.
Cs: Václav ale nebyl vystrašený.
En: But Václav wasn't scared.
Cs: Naopak, toužil najít tu vzácnou rostlinu, o které tolik četl.
En: On the contrary, he longed to find the rare plant he had read so much about.
Cs: Skupina se zastavila na malou přestávku.
En: The group stopped for a small break.
Cs: Učitelé dělali docházku a studenti se rozptýlili k odpočinku.
En: The teachers were taking attendance, and the students scattered to rest.
Cs: Václav cítil, že teď nebo nikdy.
En: Václav felt the time was now or never.
Cs: "Hned se vrátím," oznámil svým přátelům a vydal se směrem, o kterém věřil, že ho dovede k jeho cíli.
En: "I'll be right back," he announced to his friends and set off in the direction he believed would lead him to his goal.
Cs: Vítr mu šlehal do tváře a šuměl kolem uší.
En: The wind whipped his face and rustled around his ears.
Cs: V hlavě měl jediné - rostlinu, která kvetla jen pod polární září letního slunovratu.
En: He had only one thing in mind - the plant that bloomed only under the polar light of the summer solstice.
Cs: Po chvíli se Václav ocitl v malé prohlubni, kde zahlédl něco neobyčejného.
En: After a while, Václav found himself in a small depression where he caught a glimpse of something extraordinary.
Cs: Měla bledě modré květy, které se jemně kolébaly ve větru.
En: It had pale blue flowers that swayed gently in the wind.
Cs: Byla to ta rostlina!
En: It was the plant!
Cs: Náhle se kolem něho provalila hustá mlha.
En: Suddenly, a dense mist rolled around him.
Cs: Nemohl vidět dál než na několik metrů.
En: He couldn't see more than a few meters ahead.
Cs: Václav pocítil krátkou vlnu paniky, ale vzpomněl si na to, co ho učil jeho otec: "Klid a rozvaha ti vždy pomohou najít cestu."
En: Václav felt a brief wave of panic but remembered what his father had taught him: "Calmness and composure will always help you find your way."
Cs: Zhluboka se nadechl a začal se pomalu obracet zpět, všímajíc si záchytných bodů, které mu pomohly při cestě sem.
En: He took a deep breath and began to slowly turn back, noting landmarks that had helped him during his journey there.
Cs: Zanedlouho se mlha začala rozpadávat a Václav spatřil stín své skupiny.
En: Soon, the fog began to dissipate, and Václav saw the shadow of his group.
Cs: Rychle jim doběhl naproti a s úsměvem ukázal Lenka a Petru květinu, kterou našel.
En: He quickly ran toward them and, with a smile, showed Lenka and Petr the flower he had found.
Cs: "Vidíte?
En: "See?
Cs: Stálo to za to," řekl s nově nabytou sebedůvěrou.
En: It was worth it," he said with newfound confidence.
Cs: Cesta zpět ze školního výletu byla plná vyprávění.
En: The way back from the school trip was full of stories.
Cs: Václav si uvědomil, že i když tundra může být klamným místem, nabízí nevídanou krásu a vědomosti.
En: Václav realized that even though the tundra can be a deceptive place, it offers unprecedented beauty and knowledge.
