Coralee here ūüĎč with a little confession: I thought winning an Emmy would change my life... and not in the "I had a tragic childhood" or "this would be my ticket out of the small town" kind of way, but more in the "me + Emmy = success and happiness" kind of way.
Spoiler alert: that's not what happened... but five years later it did inspire this podcast. So in the spirit of clickable titles, this week's episode is the story of how "Unverified" came to be.

Proud affiliate of:DESCRIPT: Something I hear a lot from creative entrepreneurs is "I don't have time to learn how to edit Reels and TikToks and all this video stuff now!" I hear you, and... what if editing a video was as easy as editing a text document? Spoiler alert: it is with AI-assisted editing... And it's absolutely mind-blowing. Check out Descript. (I just became an affiliate, but started using it a few years ago and it saves me 8-10 hours/week of editing time, so trust I am OBSESSED).

If you are a creative entrepreneur who DIYs your own social, it's time for another monthly game plan!
This is a podcast version of an interactive workshop that I lead live every month inside The Unverified Club. The goal is to outline our content strategy for November while taking into account not only our business objectives, but also our lives, schedules, energy levels, and content creation abilities. Feel free to listen all the way through for inspiration or pause and plan along at your own pace.
Documents I'll be referring to:
If you're a member of The Unverified Club, you can find all those documents in the private Unverified Club Resource Library. If you're not a member, these workbooks are available at UnverifiedPod.com/shop, but you don't need them to be able to follow along today. (Although they are super helpful, but I am a little biased).

I think like a lot of people, I had something different planned for this week. But as you might imagine, I haven't had a single client in the last week or so who hasn't wanted to talk about what's happening in Israel/Gaza/Palestine and how that's affecting them and their loved ones personally, and also how it affects what they're trying to post on their business social media accounts. So today I'm talking about what we should be posting on our social media business pages when the world is on fire.

Today’s episode is all about the intersection of television news and social media. How reporters use social media, how you can get the attention of reporters, and, of course, lessons from internet trolls and people who disagree with ya.
And joining me today is my dear friend Matthew Torres! He is a regional Edward R. Murrow and Emmy Award-Winning general assignments reporter at WUSA9 in Washington DC.
He has covered major political events, natural disasters, high-profile trials, and done award-winning in-depth work highlighting the opioid crisis.
His digital goals now are all about how to reach followers in a new market after reporting in Nashville for 6 years and finding the balance of being both a professional and a human online.
