Phenomenally ADHD

Unwrapping ADHD in Girls Part 3—Womanhood

Listen Later

Are you part of a lost generation of women who were late diagnosed with ADHD? If so, you grew up believing there was something wrong with you, were believed to be "too sensitive", and were performing well in school so ADHD was never considered a possibility.

In this last part of understanding how ADHD shows up in women at different stages of life, we zero-in on how having a uniquely wired brain impacts our professional and romantic lives, but also, how ADHD is not the end of the story, but the beginning of one where you can start living by your own rules.

There are more women that are late diagnosed and part of a lost generation and here are a few that have spoken openly about having ADHD:

  • Greta Gerwig: Director and writer of "Barbie".
  • Michelle Rodriguez: Actress, known for her roles in "The Fast and the Furious" franchise
  • Simone Biles: Olympic gymnast
  • Mel Robbins: Author and host of the Mel Robbins Podcast
  • Karina Smirnoff: Professional dancer and "Dancing with the Stars" professional
