UnWrest

On the first UnWrest of 2022, C Dub (me) reviews the WWE Day One 2022 event.

- The Usos and New Day can Fight Forever for this wrestling fan.

- What's next for Becky Lynch? And why it should be the easi-EST decision.

- Why is no one in WWE at Brock and Roman's level?

- What's next for WWE and AEW in 2022?

All this and MORE on this edition of UnWrest. (If you hate hard truths, you may want to steer clear of this episode.)

On this week's COVID Booster-affected episode of UnWrest, I revisit the 6 Man Hell in a Cell Match from Armageddon 2000 featuring Triple H, Rikishi, Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, The Rock, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Join me for a "Watch-Along" of that match and stay for some thoughts on the week in wrestling from NXT WarGames to AEW Rampage.

- Who was the MVP of the Hell in a Cell Match? Also, how many blades were used in the making of this match?

- Is the Rikishi fall off the Hell in a Cell criminally underrated as a spot?

- Did NXT WarGames save NXT 2.0 or further its decay in the eyes of its (former in my case) audience?

- Can you blame people for tuning out when they already know the finish?

- What about the Young Bucks' matches is starting to cause problems for me as a viewer?

- Is Xia Li a member of Raiden's group from Mortal Kombat?

- Is Hook a future AEW star based off of one match only? And how well was Hook booked? Or did the book get Hook-ed?

All this and more on this week's edition of UnWrest. Let's Do This!

This week's edition of UnWrest starts with a Watch-Along of the classic Jerry Lynn vs. Rob Van Dam match from Hardcore Heaven 1999. (One moment in particular caused me to... well, you can listen for yourself.) Then, I review the week in pro wrestling from 11/29-12/5/2021. I also explain why Moose is a great world champion for Impact, why Big E's time as WWE Champion seems to be at an end, and why the Edge dig towards MJF-CM Punk's promo was really hollow and proved WWE does see AEW as competition.

Also...

- What about AEW is starting to annoy me?

- Why was the crowd so dead for Monday Night Raw?

- Is Sami Zayn going to star in a reboot of Weekend at Bernie's?

- Was ECW a lot better than its critics ever gave it credit for?

Most of these questions are answered and more on this week's UnWrest. Let's Do This!!!!

On this week's episode of UnWrest, the show starts off with a Watch-Along of the Bret "Hitman" Hart vs. Sycho Sid WWF Championship Match from In Your House: It's Time (1996). It's a match I've never seen up to this point and is smack dab in the middle of some crazy times in WWF history.

After the match, I give you some quick takes on the Thanksgiving Week wrestling shows I've been able to watch up to this point.

Is it time to have an honest conversation about security at wrestling events?

Is 1996-1997 the true end of Bret Hart's career?

Was Sid the first true anti-hero WWF Champion?

Was WWE worth watching this week period?

Which young AEW wrestler could be a future big star for the company that no one is talking about?

All this and more on this week's UnWrest. Let's Do This!!!!

On this episode of UnWrest, I provide a quick review of the 2021 Survivor Series PPV. Then, as a bonus, join me for a Watch-Along of the 2001 Survivor Series Winner Takes All Match between Team WWF and Team Alliance.

- Did anything really matter in the 2021 Survivor Series?

- Will Big E still be WWE Champion by WrestleMania?

- Was the Alliance storyline ever going to work?

- Who is the Prince Charles of professional wrestling?

- And how much overacting can one finish get?

All this and MORE on this episode of UnWrest. LET'S DO THIS!

On the first of two episodes this week for UnWrest, I preview the upcoming Survivor Series 2021 event. I share my honest opinions on how WWE has handled this event, why the event is always an afterthought on the WWE calendar, and why the event really is no better than a TLC or Extreme Rules level event despite its history. After predicting the results of this year's event, I close out the show with a review of what AEW had on their TV shows this week.

Does one part of WWE's corporation ever talk to the other part before disrupting their own news cycles?

Can WWE make me care about a Big 4 show that is modernly a  B to C-Level event?

Does brand supremacy mean anything when your rosters were on the other show just 4 weeks ago?

Can either Brock or Rock save this show in all reality?

And is Bobby Fish honestly sinking or swimming in AEW?

I ask all these questions and MORE on this episode of UnWrest. LET'S DO THIS!!!

On this episode of UnWrest, I review an excellent but flawed AEW Full Gear 2021 show. The young wrestlers of AEW shined during this show, especially with the opening match. Was the pacing of the show a problem? Was I correct about the amount of hardcore matches being an issue? How many pieces of thumbtack apparel do the Young Bucks possess? Is the Hangman a long-term world champion? WIll Miro EVER see his wife again after Full Gear? And do the AEW wrestlers even talk to each other before their matches to make sure they aren't all doing the same spots?

Most of these questions and more are pondered on this episode of UnWrest. LET'S DO THIS!

On this episode of UnWrest, I preview and predict a stacked AEW Full Gear 2021 card. Kingston and Punk has my attention, as does the World Championship picture (the tourney finals and the championship match itself). I give my honest opinion about Adam Page as a possible World Champion and the finishes that would need to happen to help him out in the future. And even then... Listen to hear more.

Also... are two hardcore matches too many? Where do many of these top stars go after Full Gear? And which Pillar of AEW will win the MJF vs. Darby Allin match? All these questions and more are pondered on this episode of UnWrest. LET'S DO THIS!

This week on UnWrest, we look back at the most controversial moment in wrestling history: the night the backstage politics of professional wrestling came center stage. That's right: it's Bret Hart defending the WWF Championship in Montreal against his heated on and off screen rival, Shawn Michaels. And it's a Watch-Along episode. LET'S DO THIS!
