  • H3 Interviews: Meditation with Anna Cate Wallace

In this episode we discuss Meditation on Scripture with AC Wallace! She'll help us understand what Mediation is, why we should do it, and how we can begin to do it. Listen and Share! Also, check below for some help tips!

    What to meditate on:

    • What has God been impressing upon your heart?
    • What has convicted you? What is hard for you to believe?
    • What has given you more awe and love for God?
    • Are you struggling with your thought life? Philippians 4:8.
    • Sensing dryness in your relationship with God? Find a verse about God’s character that amazes you.

    Methods:

    • Make whatever verse/ passage you’re meditating on your wallpaper
    • Emphasize different words of a verse:
      • “I am the resurrection and the life”
      • “I am the resurrection and the life”
      • “I am the resurrection and the life” and so on and so forth…
    • Rewrite /paraphrase the text in your own words (make it personal dialogue with God)
    • Summarize the main message of the text (helpful for texts that are harder to understand)
    • Look for applications from the text – how am I to respond to this text? What would God have me do as a result of my encounter with this part of His word? How can I be a doer of this, as James tells us to do? Is there something to start, stop, confess, pray about, believe, or say to someone?
    • Ask how the text points to Jesus
    • Pray through the text- this submits your mind to the Holy Spirit’s illumination of the text and intensifies your spiritual perception
    • Memorize the text!! Memorization and meditation work hand in hand
    • Create an artistic expression – song, poem, painting, etc.
