Preparing to study abroad is an intensive process. To make that process a little easier, Jeffrey White, Instructor of International Languages and Cultures, is teaching a new course this semester called "Maximizing Study Abroad." where he asks his students to contribute to a blog that covers cultural adjustment, language learning strategies, and many other aspects of studying abroad with the goal that students will see themselves as developing language learners in a learning community.

AR, VR and AI are discussed in relation to education as Dr. Eric Anctil joins the podcast for a lively discussion. Dr. Anctil’s scholarly work centers on the nexus of media, technology, innovation, and the curriculum.

In this podcast, Melanie Gangle and Christa Hill from Accessible Education Services, discuss the wide range of tools and techniques available for making the learning environment more accessible for all students. From captioning for video to simple strategies like ensuring that faculty are facing the class when speaking and even when notating while using an ELMO or a tablet.

Dr. Lora Looney joins the podcast to discuss her ATR project - building a website and learning community to study films and fiction that used juvenile protagonists to tell about the Spanish civil war and the the dictatorship that followed.

When Pat Thompson found out about Voicethread, an online communication tool that allows users to share and discuss documents, presentations, images, audio files and videos, she jumped on the chance to communicate in a much more authentic way with candidates that are in the midst of graduate work and their practicum experience. Pat's project will focus on investigative research and implementation of Voicethread within curriculum for the coming year.
