Good Friday is the Friday before Easter, also known as the day that recognizes Jesus dying on the cross. It is a day of remembrance that Jesus indeed was crucified, beaten, and hung on a cross to die for the sins not only of the people of that age but for all mankind for all time. Many Christians observe this day as a day of fasting, prayer, and remembrance. Around the world, Good Friday is celebrated in many different ways to call to light what Jesus did and to worship Him well. The death of Jesus on the Cross preceded the miracle that came from Him keeping His promise to rise again on the Third Day. Ask for forgiveness from those specific sins. Share your great hurts and thank Jesus for hurting for you on the cross. Redeclare your love for Christ and your gratitude for salvation through Him. Preparing our Souls: Who I am, Depth of Me, Personality. Take some time resting in Christ and worshipping Him this week. Whether through prayer, writing, music, etc., what can you use as a catalyst to praise Him? Preparing our Minds: Pondering the Word of God. This week spend some time thinking about how different scriptures point or parallel to Jesus. Consider reading through the crucifixion and resurrection passages. Preparing our Neighbors.
