We have a name!!! (oh and the NBA Playoffs started). Introducing the Up and Under, the name that took 5 months and 11 episodes to come up with and if you think that's maybe a little long then you just don't understand the creative process and you can get the hell out of my studio.
This week, Conor, Drunk Francis, and Grant discuss the winners and losers of the seeding games (7:27) and the most important questions heading into the playoffs (36:10), make their picks for the first round of action (56:44), and finish up with some poker (1:02:44).
The gang is back together, sorry we were busy watching real live sports. This week Conor, Francis, and Grant overreact to the first three games of the bubble (15:02), judge the bodies of professional athletes (37:15), and make some more gambles (49:38).
In a very special episode of PTBNL, Francis chats with his old golf buddy Ian K. Campbell. After climbing up the amateur ranks, Ian turned pro earlier this year and earned a top 20 finish in his first tournament as a professional. Frank and Ian go deep in the rough, discussing Ian's golf beginnings and the pressure of performing in front of your parents (4:33), the loneliness that comes with the territory for golfers (8:28), being a minority in an expensive, predominantly white sport (11:34), the best and worst things about the game (17:48), being compared to Tiger Woods as a black golfer (29:37), and much more.
We were extremely grateful that Ian was willing to come on the pod, and we know y'all will enjoy it. If you want to learn more about Ian or get in touch with him, please visit his website at iankcampbell.com.
This week Conor, Francis, and Grant discuss their final thoughts on the Last Dance (5:45); deep dive into some research on one-time NBA All-Stars and the league's dilution in the 90's (12:50), including some little-known NBA factoids (28:18); propose the rule changes they would most like to implement across all sports (50:10); and rehash an old sports betting tradition (57:45).
We also know that sports is not the thing on most people's minds right now. If you'd like to support the Black Lives Matter movement and help bring an end to racially-motivated police brutality, follow this link to donate: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/ms_blm_homepage_2019
Conor, Francis, and Grant get together for an emergency, not-so-mini mini pod to discuss the upcoming and long-awaited return of the NBA season.

If you really like NASCAR and dog shows, then you've got a full weekend of sports ahead of you. We don't count ourselves so lucky. This week, Conor, Francis, and Grant discuss the MLB's proposal to commence the season (3:53), the importance of sports in society (9:23), and we pick some, let's say...imperfect, All-NBA teams (24:03).
I was 3 years old when Michael Jordan won his final ring. Francis and Conor were 2 and 1, respectively. Come listen to us talk about it. This week we discuss a tragic NFL Draft backstory (1:17), our thoughts on The Last Dance (7:02), including whether without Phil Jackson, is Mike just James Harden with a better brand (20:10)? Also, how MJ distancing himself from politics affects his legacy (43:39), and the best Pro-Am players the NBA has to offer (56:19).
A month and a half in and I'm running out of ways to say we're sitting at home doing nothing but dreaming up podcast segments. This week Conor, Francis, and Grant scrape together some topics and discuss the G League making money moves college boosters can't match (3:58), looking backwards and forwards for a fraught Memphis basketball program (19:42), the NFL and NBA collective bargaining agreements with Big City Lawyer Frank (33:16), the remote pageantry of the NFL Draft (57:00), stomping grapes with Dwyane Wade, How to Get a Knicks Job in One Day, throwing underhand in the World Series, and more of the best and worst from the All-in-Challenge (1:02:42).
