UPDATE: A man in his 50s remains in a critical condition in hospital after a wild family brawl involving 20 people ended in his stabbing.

Nine News reporter Mia Egerton-Warburton told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the brawl was apparently between a group of estranged family members.

"Him being the granddad, he's come out to de-escalate it; I was told they were just looking to take their anger out on someone," Ms Egerton-Warburton said.
