The SAHRC is in Mahikeng to investigate challenges in the scholar Transport. This inquiry follows numerous complaints regarding the inadequate, unreliable, and unsafe transport for learners, which negatively impacts their right to basic education. A couple of dead bodies still remain trapped under a bus which crashed and rolled on the R21 near O.R Tambo International Airport on Gauteng's East Rand. This has preliminary investigations continue to take place in order to understand what may have led to this fatal accident. At least 12 people have been confirmed to have died while 45 others have been seriously injured and taken to nearby hospitals. At least 6 people been killed in a turf war between community members and a notorious gang in Amaoti, in the north of Durban. All six deceased are believed to be residents from the area. The area is close to Inanda where the bodies of five people were discovered hacked to death in a sports field in January. At the time, Inanda residents called for the release of the 12 suspects who police had arrested in connection with the murders, saying that they were working to keep the community safe. The City of Johannesburg says there's a need to root out criminality including hijacked buildings in order to return the City to its former glory. This emerged at the Khampepe Commission of Inquiry into the Usindiso-building fire that claimed 76 lives in 2023. The family of a man killed at Philadelphia Hospital in Dennilton, Limpopo has accused the provincial health department of trying to conceal the cause of his death. The department says Klaas Ledwaba was killed on Saturday when a patient attacked three others in a ward. Security guards allegedly failed to contain the patient and fired rubber bullets at him. Family spokesperson, Seun Mokgotsi says the department performed an autopsy on Ledwaba before calling them to come and identify the body. INTRO: The Office of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC) and Health Ombud is currently hosting a media briefing to  release the findings of the  inspection and investigation into the allegations against the Helen Joseph Tertiary Hospital. This follows allegations made by Thomas Holmes, after he posted a video recording alleging that during his admission in September 2024, he experienced neglect and rude behavior from the hospital staff, at Helen Joseph Hospital. He further reported that the hospital's infrastructure was in disrepair. 

Residents of Amaoti, north of Durban say they fear for their lives due to the high crime rate in the area. Three community members were shot and killed allegedly by the members of a notorious gang this morning. Two people have reportedly died in Soweto following an incident attended to by the Johannesburg Metro Police in relation to a taxi route dispute by associations.  It is reported that the Metro police crashed into pedestrians and knocked down two pedestrians. Gauteng police say one of the deceased from last night's shooting at the Solo restaurant in Sandton, Johannesburg had two pending cases of attempted murder. The shooting, left three people dead and four others injured.  According to police a man with a firearm wanted to enter the restaurant which has a no firearm policy, when an altercation began. Seven Chinese nationals have been found guilty of about 160 charges including human trafficking, debt bondage and violation of labour and immigration laws. They have been found of being Involved in the trafficking of illegal immigrants into South Africa and subjecting them to forced labour.
