The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has confirmed that the country's soldiers who were critically injured in eastern DRC are back home and receiving urgent medical attention. The soldiers arrived back home last night following a repatriation process. It is not clear how many other injured soldiers are remaining in the region but they are said to coming home in  the next few days. Last month, 14 South African soldiers were killed in a clashes between the M23 rebels and the Congolese military in the town of Goma. Former Johannesburg Mayor, Kabelo Gwanda says fraud charges brought against him were a fabrication and a political ploy to tarnish his name and that of his politcal party. Gwamanda, an Aljama-ah councillor had all charges against him provinsionally dropped by the Protea Magistrate's Court in Soweto. Impeached Judge and uMkhonto weSizwe Parliamentary leader, Dr. John Hlophe has returned to the Western Cape High Court, following an application by the Democratic Alliance and Freedom Under Law. The parties approached the court in questioning the rationality of Parliament in endorsing Hlophe to serve in the Judicial Service Commission. Police in the Limpopo province say investigations are underway following the rapes and robberies of four TVET college students in Bolobedu. Police say one of the students went outside to fetch water when she was attacked by a suspect carrying a gun on Saturday evening. Provincial spokesperson, Stephen Thakeng, says the suspect instructed the students in the residence to undress at gunpoint and then proceeded to assault them. A domestic violence survivor is appealing her murder conviction at the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court today. Known as the "Palm Ridge Mother," she killed her partner during a domestic violence incident in November 2018. The applicant is represented by the Centre for Applied Legal Studies. The Health Department have unveiled a new HIV treatment campaign, that aims to close the gap between persons living with the virus and on treatment and those not on treatment. The campaign, a collaboration between the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC) and other stakeholders in the health sector, seeks to close the gap by the end of December 2025. Government has made efforts to enhance ongoing interventions on the uptake of life-saving HIV treatment to ensure 95% of people diagnosed with HIV receive and adhere to antiretroviral therapy (ART) in order to achieve viral suppression. President Cyril Ramaphosa says a postponement in the tabling of a national budget is not unique only to South Africa. He was speaking during the opening of the National House of Traditional and Khoisan Leaders in Parliament a short while go. The Judicial Conduct Tribunal hearing of 10 Western Cape High Court judges who filed official complaints with the Judicial Service Commission against Judge Mushtak Parker is currently underway after it was postponed by about four years owing to his health condition. Judge Parker is facing allegations of lying under oath and lying by ommission. If found guilty of misconduct, he could face impeachment  for allegedly providing conflicting versions of an alleged assault by former judge John Hlophe. There is an outbreak of the African armyworm that has been reported in Limpopo. One small scale farmer in Polokwane, Limpopo says she has lost close to 75-percent of her crops due to an outbreak of army worm in the province. Wendy Moshakga is a young black female farmer that grows spinach and cabbages in Seshego. She started farming in 2021 after struggling to find employment after completing her tertiary studies. Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwana, says he doesn't believe that the postponement of the tabling of the national budget will have a major impact on the G20 Finance meetings taking place in South Africa. The tabling of the Government of National Unity's first budget was postponed last week due to disagreements in Cabinet regarding the proposed budget.
