Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan says the stage six rolling blackouts that Eskom has implemented are totally unacceptable and he's directed management and the Eskom board to meet and act with a great sense of urgency to end stage six. Gordhan says stage six is having a devastating impact on households, business and the entire economy. The minister says in a statement that the frequency of rolling blackouts is to some extent attributable to malfunctioning within Eskom's systems as well as sabotage. Gordhan has appealed to law enforcement agencies to have a stronger presence at power stations across the country. Meanwhile... Civil Society coalition group #UniteBehind says Parliament has ignored its complaints against six Members of parliament which include transport minister Fikile Mbalula. The group alleges that these MP's are implicated in state capture and corruption at the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA). The coalition first laid a formal complaint in August 2022 to Parliament's Joint Committee on Ethics and Members' Interests, referring to article 10 of Parliament's Code of Conduct. Power utility, Eskom will be implementing stage 6 loadshedding from 12:00 until further notice. Eskom says this is due to a high number of breakdowns since midnight. Meanwhile , Eskom had warned  South Africans to brace themselves for prolonged load shedding as the power utility is implementing major capital projects and repairs. According to Eskom this work carries  significant risk and  will serve to further increase the implementation of load shedding. Statistics South Africa released the gross domestic product figure for the third quarter. The results show that after contracting by 0,7% in the second quarter of 2022, the economy rallied in the third quarter, showing the economy grew by 1,6 percent . President Cyril Ramaphosa will face the toughest moment of his ANC presidency at the special NEC scheduled for today. The party's highest decision-making body is set to discuss matters relating to the recently released Section 89 report on President Cyril Ramaphosa's Phala Phala farm.. The Independent panel of experts led by former a Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo,  found that the president may have violated his oath of office in the 2020 robbery at his Phala Phala farm. Religious leaders are also weighing-in on the recent challenges plaguing the ruling ANC with Anglican Archbishop, Thabo Makgoba calling for a government of national unity if President Cyril Ramaphosa were to resign. This as the country awaits the outcome of the party's NEC meeting following the damning Section 89 panel report which found that the president may have a case to answer regarding the theft incident at his Phala Phala Game Farm. President Cyril Ramaphosa faces the threat of possible removal from office, after the Parliamentary Section 89 Panel of Independent Experts found that he has a case to answer and that he may have violated his oath of office. The panel says any moves to impeach Ramaphosa must be based on solid evidence. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to political analyst, Asanda Ngoasheng 

Government has implemented a six-month ban on the export of copper and other scrap metals. The ban is an effort to clamp down on the illegal trade of the scrap metals, as well as to curb vandalism of public infrastructure and cable theft. Speaking to members of the media on Wednesday, Minister of trade, industry and competition, Ebrahim Patel said copper and scrap metal theft at the country's SOEs robs the economy of about R47-billion annually. The six-month ban will be regulated through a permit system administered by the International Trade Administration Commission. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Stephen Hanival.
