The landlord of the Soweto woman who allegedly poisoned herself and her three children has told Update At Noon that he ccanot say for certain that she had financial problems as claimed. The woman and her two children are being treated at different hospitals after rat posion was found in their home. The elder child who was 13-years old died on the way to hospital.

In the latest leadership battle facing the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC), the Narias Moloto faction has shot down the elective congress outcome held in Kimberley, Northern Cape where new leader Mzwanele Nyhontso was elected. The leaders of the two faction came to the SABC's Agenda programme to each state their case. Speaking to the Shows anchor, Desiree Chauke, Narius Moloto argued that the recent conference is illegitimate and illegal.

The South African National Editors' Forum (SANEF) says it has laid a complaint against the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) at the Equality Court for comments that its leaders and supporters have been making against journalists. SANEF says although criticism of the media is acceptable, the comments have been abusive, intimidating and amoun to hate speech. It says the EFF leadership is not interested in having a meeting to discuss this matter.

Airline CemAir insists that it did comply with the regulations of the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SAACA) but claims that the organisation did not cooperate when it had questions around its reasons for grounding the airline. CemAir has been given until airline CemAir until 5pm today to give information regarding its safety measures regarding the weight of the plane and how it is calculated. This comes after a court order which lifted a temporary suspension by CAA which also stated that the parties must find a solution themselves after the company’s planes were grounded for failure to comply. The Aviation Authority discovered this when it conducted an audit of the company’s planes last week. Former PRASA acting CEO, Collins Letsoalo says the apology by the Sunday Times is not enough. Letsoalo has announced that he is suing the state-owned entity for unfairly dismissing him and that he will also be going after the DA for calling him a thief, former PRASA board chair, Popo Molefe in his personal capacity as well as Sunday Times Journalist, Caiphus Kgosana. The paper published an apology on Sunday, retracting the article after the Auditor-General revealed that a report the paper used was fake. Letsoalo has now called on the police to find the individual behind the fabricated Auditor General report. Letsoalo says his life is in danger because of his opposition to wrongdoing at the agency that also led to his dismissal following a now-retracted newspaper report. He spoke to Sakina Kamwendo.

Rand Water and the Tshwane metro have called on the community of Centurion in Pretoria to use water sparingly. The supply of water will be limited from this Thursday because of the low levels of water in reservoirs that are a result of too much consumption. Scores of shops selling fake goods have been closed down by Joburg Metro Police following several raids. This comes on the back of an announcement by the City of Joburg mayor Herman Mashaba that the municipality is making headway in its fight against crime. Mashaba has realeased the city's monthly crime stats for November in the city today. He says money derived from the sale of counterfeit goods is being used to fund other crimes.

Organisers of the first Cannabis Expo in Africa say the overwhelming response from the public pushes government into wholly legalising the plant. Sunday marked the fourth and last day of the expo, which has attracted over 15-thousand people. The expo held at Menlyn in Pretoria comes against the backdrop of the Constitutional Court's recent decriminalization of the use and cultivation of marijuana in private space. More court room battles are expected between rival PAC factions following an elective conference held in Kimberley in the Northern Cape this past weekend. Delegates at the three-day meeting voted Mzwanele Nyhontso as the party's new president. He garnered 176 votes. His contenders were Luthando Mbinda and Zamikhaya Gxabe. He beat them by 121 and 28 votes respectively. Nobelungu Nowapane reports.

Retail group Edcon says it is working on a recovery plan after the company faced huge financial problem which could lead to the loss of 140 000 jobs. It has denied a report that it will be closing down and says they are working on a plan. Edcon owns Edgars, Jet and CAN. Wisani Makhubela reports.
