A retired language practitioner has testified in the unrest-related trial of former president Jacob Zuma's daughter in the Durban High Court that the phrase 'we see you' used in social media posts at that time, would have to refer to an activity. Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla is being charged with incitement to commit violence and incitement to commit terrorism relating to 38 Tweets within 36 hours. It would start with 'we see you' in response to a scene from the unrest, followed by 'Amandla', and 'Free Jacob Zuma'. The former president was in prison for contempt of court at the time. Under examination by the state Doctor Ellie Khumalo- Simelane said the phrase 'we see you' in isiZulu would make no sense unless it refers to an activity. The Durban High Court has viewed more CCTV footage showing the movements of two alleged gunmen, moments before the fatal shooting of rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes and his friend Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane in 2023. The footage shows two men crossing the road towards Wish restaurant as AKA and his entourage emerge. Forbes is seen embracing Motsoane before one of the men opens fire, while the second appears to cover the group with a firearm. The two then flee towards Gordon Road. Seven men are standing trial for the murders. They have pleaded not guilty. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SABC News reporter Gcinokuhle Malinga  

Former Vlaakplaas Commander -- Eugene De Kock -- has blamed the NPA for the failure to prosecute TRC cases. He says that although he made it clear that he was willing to provide information on crimes committed by the Security Branch -- no one from the NPA ever asked him to do so. De Kok is testifying on day 99 of the TRC Cases Inquiry taking place in Newtown, Johannesburg.

SACP has reaffirmed its commitment of improving the lives of the poor and working class in the country. The party's General-Secretary Solly Mapaila says when the party is voted into power after the up-coming local government elections, municipalities will be accountable to the people. The Pan Africanist Congress of Azania president, Mzwanele Nyhontso, says the party is moving to obtain an outright majority in the Mnquma Local Municipality, when voters head to the polls in the local government elections. Nyhontso was speaking during the announcement of Nkosi Phathuxolo Tyali as  mayoral candidate for the PAC in the Mnquma Municipality in the Eastern Cape. ANC President, Cyril Ramaphosa, has decried the political killings that have rocked some parts of the country recently. Last week, four ANC members were killed in Katlehong, east of Johannesburg and two in Umgababa in Kwa Zulu-Natal. They were allegedly killed by members of rival parties. Speaking during his party's campaign trail in Soweto on Sunday, President Ramaphosa said political parties must implore on their members to avoid political violence. Hammanskraal residents fear that the water crisis in neighbouring Bronkhorstspruit will have a direct, negative knock-on effect on their lives. The residents allege their supply is increasingly sporadic, and say the City of Tshwane's water tankers have neglected their area. This comes after an E. coli outbreak led to the closure of the Bronkhorstspruit Treatment Plant, resulting in the City of Tswhane sending 36 water tankers to Bronkhorstspruit.
