Several roads have been closed in Maclear, Barkley East, Elliot and Ngcobo in the Eastern Cape due to heavy snow falls overnight. More than 30 cm of snow has fallen in low lying areas, covering most of the roads in various farming towns. Fundiswa Mhlekude reports....

Judgement in the case of four axed SABC journalists will be handed down at the Labour Court in Johannesburg this morning. The urgent application by Trade Union Solidarity on behalf of the journalists was heard on Friday at the Labour Court in Johannesburg. The four are challenging their dismissal by the public broadcaster. A peace agreement has been signed between feuding factions at the troubled Glebelands Hostel at Umlazi, south of Durban. More than sixty people have been killed at the hostel over the past two years in a conflict allegedly over bed allocations. Meanwhile the IFP has condemned the killing of two of its members at Estcourt in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. The killings took place while the men were conducting door-to-door campaigns in the area.
