March 11, 2016Mineral Resources Ministers Mosebenzi Zwane on Lily MineVantage Gold has finally found a way to reach the three miners trapped underground at the Lily Mine in Mpumalanga. However this plan will take six months to be complete. Solomon Nyerenda, Pretty Nkambule and Yvonne Mnisi were trapped underground over a month ago when the container they were working in collapsed into an 80 metre deep sinkhole. Rescue operations at the mine were suspended when the ground was found to be too unstable to continue with operations. Janusz Walus was sentenced to death for the 1993 assassination of the much-loved and popular Hani, but it was later commuted to life. Motlanthe was addressing the ANC Johannesburg Region members in Braamfontein last night. This comes after the rating agency Moody's said it had placed South Africa's long and short term ratings on review for a possible downgrade.
