Northern Cape Judge Mmathebe Phatsoane is expected to start delivering her judgement today in the case involving Northern Cape ANC chairperson John Block, deputy secretary Alvin Botes and Trifecta director Christo Scholtz. The judgement was originally set to be delivered in Junebut was postponed because Judge Phatsoane was not ready. Block, Botes and Scholtz are accused of fraud, corruption and money laundering relating to multi-million rand government lease tenders. They have all pleaded not guilty to the charges. Department of Land Affairs and Rural Development is to review the controversial Ingonyama Trust Act in KwaZulu-Natal with the aim of ensuring that people on tribal land fully benefit from it. The Act established the Ingonyama Trust which administers about 2.8 million hectares of land in the province under traditional authority. Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini is the chair of the Trust. The issue was discussed at the ANC's National General Council held over the weekend. Meanwhile, the Ingonyama Trust has welcomed plans to review the Act, saying that's in line with the constitution.
