Learning and teaching has been disrupted at a farm school in Piet Retief in Mpumalanga since July, due to lack of scholar transport. About 190 learners at the Nokuthula Primary School were unable to attend classes because their transport was allegedly cancelled by the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport. A man suspected of being part of a notorious gang terrorising communities has been attacked and necklaced by angry residents of Etwatwa near Daveyton on Gauteng's East Rand. The Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein will hear an appeal today against a Western Cape Town High Court judgment ordering that SABC Chief Operating Officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng be suspended and disciplinary steps be taken against him. The Democratic Alliance went to the High Court to enforce the remedial action proposed by Public Protector Thuli Madonsela that disciplinary steps be taken against Motsoeneng. Western Cape Town High Court Judge Ashton Schippers found that Madonsela's findings were not binding and enforceable. However, they also could not be ignored but must be properly considered. KwaZulu-Natal Premier Senzo Mchunu says he was suspected in the murder of his bodyguard who was gunned down in July. Mchunu revealed this during an address at the Provincial POPCRU congress in Durban. 24-year-old Xolani Nkosi was murdered in his car at Empangeni.
