The term capital punishment stems from the Latin word Capid meaning head. IE: “off with his head‼️, I will put your head on a spike” While this sounds medieval and barbaric, the death penalty is still practiced in sovereign nations around the globe. Nations like Saudi Arabia still use beheading and crucifixion  ✝️ as a means of execution. 

There are approximately  2738 inmates are on death row in the US and a couple states still permit the use of a firing squad. Rather than kill prisoners, why not allow them to work and provide compensation to their victims next of kin, conduct suicide missions for the military or exile them? How would you substitute the death 💀 penalty?
