In this episode, I was joined by one of the earliest big movers and shakers in the Upland Metaverse, who has gone on to become one of the most controversial characters in the Upland community, DJshorts. DJ came into Upland hard and fast, quickly making a name for himself as an insatiable whale, particularly in the minting out of San Francisco. He played a big role in the early formation of the node concept in Upland, went on to do huge community events related to his development of the Sunset neighborhoods, had one of the most successful early Upland-related YouTube channels, and was also a massive early supporter of the Spark, NFLPA, and Blockchain Heroes economies.

Then things started to go sideways, which ultimately led to him being BANNED, BLACKLISTED, and BANISHED from large swathes of the Upland community and apparently even the Upland Metaverse platform itself. My own personal history with DJshorts has been a complex one, with us riding some pretty significant highs together to some very spiteful and ugly falling outs both public and private. We touch on all of that of course, along with loads of historical and contemporary perspectives on the space.
