Episode 5 is about the idea of Rioting vs Protests. In the wake of the killing of George Floyd, there are protests across the country, some have crossed into full-blown riots with property damage and looting. Is this the voice of the unheard? will this get the point across? UPDATE: This was recorded just hours before the arrest of the primary officer involved in the Death of George Floyd.
Episode 4 is about the immediate actions and comments of Minneapolis Mayor Frey in the wake of the death of George Floyd. Mayor Frey was quick, decisive, and refreshing in his candid comments. This is how a politician should sound when it comes to Police Brutality! This is compared to the previous inaction of former Prosecutor Amy Klobuchar who served as the County Attorney of Hennepin County, MN where Minneapolis is. Senator Klobuchar is seeking the VP nomination to join a ticket with Vice President Biden just a week after he claimed your not Black if you support him when she previously had a chance to stop the officer who ultimately killed George Floyd.
Episode 3 discusses the Central Park "Karen" and how calling the police is used as a weapon, often against Black people. Then once the police are on the scene often we get brazen police brutality with no regard for the rights and lives of the disproportionately Black citizen. It's an exhausting, enraging conversation that is unfortunately made relevant every few weeks.
In Episode 2 we discuss the long term impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the economy from Restaurants to Sports.
This is our first podcast started on the day Vice President Biden made his "Ain't Black" comments. We discussed that comment along with our views on African American voting in the Democratic Party. We discuss why some feel disenfranchised and what must be done to get more results out of our political capital.
