Sermon Description: Base Church
On Sunday, Pete unpacked what it means to be a base church—a community that is more than just a place of gathering, but a hub from which life, mission, and people are sent out. Not every church is called to be a base, and that’s okay—but for those that are, there is a unique responsibility and intentionality required.
He shared how a base church is marked by the gathering of diverse people—different gifts, backgrounds, and callings—all coming together with a shared purpose. It’s not about uniformity, but unity in mission. There’s also something significant about place—being positioned well, both geographically and spiritually, to reach and impact others. Alongside this, the strength of a base church lies in its people: faithful, available, and willing to be part of something bigger than themselves.
Ultimately, a base church isn’t built by accident. It’s shaped by God’s design, rooted in community, and focused outward—equipping and sending people to carry the gospel beyond its walls.
