God does not allocate resources to our problems. He attaches them to our identity in Jesus. His primary purpose is in the revelation of our exact likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ.  We are 'Beholding so we can become what we already are'. In every situation we are learning how to grow up in all things in Christ, to walk worthy of the divine calling He has placed on our lives. This is a compelling episode!

When John the Baptist, the cousin of Jesus goes through a time of deep doubt, Jesus encourages him to go back and recognise the Word of God over His life. When we learn to take Him at His word, we move our lives and our expectations from a place of doubt, into a place of faith.

ROMANS 8: 15 - For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

Why does the Apostle Paul caution us against not receiving doubt and fear that comes from a mindset of slavery, and not freedom? Because it's possible for us to fall back into a life that does not reflect the freedom that we have received.
