This 35 minute interview is jam packed with insights into Luke Rock’s background, his philosophy on roasting and sourcing, as well as some of his favorite jams. We talk in-depth about the coffee you’re enjoying, including tasting notes, varietals, and the state of coffee production in Peru. Acacia Ladd-Cocca (@acacialc6) is a cafe manager at Kru Coffee and a self-proclaimed Rave Mom. She has a degree in Substance Abuse Counseling and she gets to use that expertise both in her manager role and out in the wild. When she's not slinging delicious drinks at Kru, you might find her volunteering at music festivals for organizations that work tirelessly to ensure a safe experience for concert-goers, both from a harm reduction perspective, as well as a physical health and wellness perspective.

Nick Rovozzini is our good friend and the owner of Second Scoop Gelato in Troy, New York. Nick is a coffee enthusiast, barista, home brewer, and latte art throwdown veteran. He’s hilarious and genuine. He was a pleasure to talk to, as always, and he dropped some ice cream vs gelato knowledge on us! Nick is also an avid photographer, doing a lot of work in concert photography. He’s currently known for his work documenting the regional protests, releasing some truly powerful photos of our community coming together in solidarity.

Katt Schott is an Educator for the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) and a barista at Kru Coffee in Saratoga Springs, NY. In her 12 years in coffee, she has been a green buyer, a roaster, and a barista; she has sourced both coffee and tea, and is even a certified technician for La Marzocco! We are inspired by Katt's enthusiasm for all things coffee and her desire to learn all she can about each facet of the industry. We start at her roots, as we do with many guests, and tease out learned lessons and experiences along the way.
