Sacred spaces can be religious, spiritual or personal; they can be filled with a jumble of doodads and trinkets, or completely empty. What matters is that when you enter the space (or look at it, in the case of a matchbox-sized altar), you are able to connect deeply in some way to what is important to you, whether that is your faith, a memory or an idea. Visiting your sacred space should be enriching, calming and refreshing. It should shelter and restore you, encouraging you to draw strength from it as you realign with your mission.
