I had the pleasure of sitting and speaking with Brother Braheem Najeed. One of the original proprietors of Philadelphia's Broad and Erie Store, now closed, Black and Nobel. We sat for over an hour and a half and discussed the rise and fall of not only his journey with Black and Nobel but also all the caveats that aided in that locations demise. Once a staple in Philadelphia's Nicetown-Tioga section of the city, now just a physical framework of what once was. This conversation is one I think all should listen to, especially in regards to the fall of the mixtape and the empowerment of black neighborhoods and creatives.
