surprises of our faith, we will look at Wonder Woman, Deborah and Barak from

the Book of Judges, and Jesus Christ who revolutionized leadership, challenging

society and the status quo. We, too, can be revolutionary leaders that focus on

community, grace, and love and the Good News is...we don't have to do it alone!

Captain America's shield is nearly indestructible when he confronts

violence and those who want to put him away. As people of faith, we have a

shield, as well. If we claim that the Lord is our shield, how does that enable

and encourage us when we're called to confront violence in our own lives and

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:1-10Like the mutants, X-MEN, who had been gifted with extraordinary powers and had to learn to grow into using their powers for good and like Paul, who, despite his human frailties and weaknesses continued on the path that God had designed and desired for him, we are reminded of God’s sufficient grace.  This message reminds us that even when we know we are inadequate, despite presenting our best self, we will still fall woefully short BUT God’s grace is sufficient.And it’s in this sufficient, God-given grace that we find the strength to keep going, keep moving and keep pushing forward allowing God to use our mutations, our weaknesses as a vessel toward advancing the kin-dom work here on earth.
