Urgent Church

During this message Judy Ainsworth, pastor Mike's grandmother, preached a special message about how to be a fantastic grandparent. The Bible encourages us to honor our grandparents, and that they should allow their influence to inspire a spiritual inheritance.

One of the most controversial teachings in the church is the understanding of what scripture says about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Mike explains through scripture what Jesus said He would send from the Father to the disciples on pentecost.

I don’t know about you but when I am going through a hard situation that last thing that I want to hear from a close friend or someone while I am at church is “Everything happens for a reason.” It sounds good but without further explanation it misses the point on how God is at work in our lives. In church we sometimes have these cliche sayings and feel good one liners, but sometimes even though they may make sense and feel good can be completely of course to the gospel. In this series we are walking through a few of those sayings we like to use the most.

So many times we come up with this fun and fancy sayings in the church that feel good to share with others. When in reality we don't realize where it came from and upon further inspection we can soon realize just because it sounds good doesn't make it true.
