Jesus faced opposition from religious leaders for healing on the Sabbath and claiming equality with God. He explained that the Father and Son work in perfect unity, with the Father working through the Son to give life and execute judgment. Jesus emphasized that honoring the Father requires honoring the Son - there is no other way to God. Through hearing Christ's word and believing, we pass from death to life. Unlike earthly kings who build kingdoms through power and violence, Jesus built His kingdom by emptying Himself and serving humanity. Everyone will eventually honor the Son, either willingly now through faith or unwillingly at judgment.
